DP Announcement - Life Sciences Pillars of Excellence

10-14-2015

Richard Kuhn and Donna Fekete.

This message is being sent on behalf of Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, Chief Scientist and Executive Director of Discovery Park

DP Staff,

As announced earlier in Purdue Today, President Mitch Daniels has approved the launch of two Life Sciences Pillars of Excellence. We are delighted that the Pillars will be hosted in Discovery Park, and that Richard Kuhn and Donna Fekete have agreed to lead these new efforts as inaugural directors. As a result of this new strategic initiative, Richard will be stepping down as Director of Bindley Biosciences Center effective today. I wish to take this opportunity to thank Richard for his tremendous service as Director of the Bindley Biosciences Center for the last eight years. Through his tireless efforts, and while balancing multiple responsibilities, Richard has helped build a stable, effective and highly regarded organization that is integral to the future of Discovery Park and of the university. I am also pleased to announce that Joseph Irudayaraj has agreed to step in immediately as the interim Director of Bindley Biosciences Center. A search committee for the new permanent Director of Bindley will be established very soon in coordination with other related searches across campus.

Please join me in congratulating Richard on a job well done and on his new responsibilities, and in welcoming Joseph as the new Interim Director.

Cheers,
Tomás
