Erramilli, Lai and LaRue awarded Yeunkyung Woo Achieve Excellence Travel Scholarships

Three Biological Sciences graduate students, Satchal Erramilli, Jesyin Lai and Elizabeth LaRue have been awarded travel grants from the Yeunkyung Woo Achieve Excellence Travel Scholarship Fund. These awards support the travel of graduate students to present their work at scientific meetings.
The Yeunkyung Woo Achieve Excellence Travel Scholarship Fund was created in 2002 by the Biological Sciences Department in memory of Yeunkyung Woo, a talented, energetic and well-loved PhD student. Yeunkyung's expressed desire was to get the opportunity to present her work at major scientific meetings, and this fund provides travel awards to help our current graduate students do just that. Twice per year the Department issues a call for applications from graduate students who plan to travel to major meetings to present their results, and winners are chosen competitively, as funds allow. Since 2003 the Achieve Excellence Travel Scholarship fund has provided travel funds in Yeunkyung's name to 33 deserving graduate students from 26 different laboratories, whose presentations have honored Yeunkyung's memory and flown the flag for research in Purdue Biological Sciences.
