Content:BIOL 11000/11100 is a two-semester principles of biology sequence that introduces students to the major concepts of the discipline, with emphasis on the experimental and logical basis of the information presented. BIOL 11000/11100 includes lectures and laboratories that begin with atoms and build to the diversity of life. Topics include chemistry, biochemistry of macromolecules, cell structure and function, photosynthesis, respiration, evolution, the diversity of life and DNA structure and replication. This course is intended as the first semester of two semesters. These courses are NOT independent and should be taken in sequence. |
