Research Areas

The Carpenter-Shen lab (co-led by Dr. Anne Carpenter) develops computational methods and applications for large-scale biological experiments integrating imaging and multiomics data. Dr. Shen is a computational biologist whose research bridges quantitative genetics, image-based profiling, and deep learning to advance the understanding of human disease and accelerate drug discovery. He develops AI-driven methods to extract meaningful biological signals from diverse datasets and leverage them for mechanistic insights, therapeutic discovery, and translational research.
