Nandini Krishnamoorthy
Dr. Nandini Krishnamoorthy's research explores how immune cells function early in life to maintain tissue health and coordinate responses to infection and inflammation.
Dr. Krishnamoorthy obtained her PhD in immunology at the University of Pittsburgh with Dr Prabir Ray and her thesis research focused on dissecting the role of c-kit on dendritic cells in T cell differentiation. She moved to Brigham and Women’s Hospital Boston to pursue her postdoctoral fellowship in 2013 with Dr. Bruce Levy towards understanding the role of specialized pro-resolving mediators in mitigation allergic inflammation and viral infections. The overarching theme of Dr. Krishnamoorthy’s research has been the identification of pathways that bridge innate and adaptive immune systems during viral infection and allergen exposure. She is a junior faculty at the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine hoping to expand our understanding of resolution of lung inflammation and specifically dissecting mechanism involved in dendritic cell biology and regulatory T cells dysfunction during viral infection.
