PROFESSIONAL FACULTY RESEARCH

Genetic and epidemiological drivers of antigenic diversification; Evolutionary models to understand genetic diversity and disease transmission; Spatial population genetics

BIO

Qixin He is an evolutionary biologist whose research focuses on understanding the evolution and structuring of population diversities in space and time via testable theoretical models. She integrates concepts and tools from population genetics, genomic evolution, and disease ecology, and develops new methodologies to answer questions regarding rapid adaptation, range expansions and contractions, and parasite-pathogen coevolution. Her research quantifies and predicts the outcome of conservation genetics and disease intervention.
