Vision
With a forty year legacy of excellence, the goals of the department’s vision researchers have been to enhance our fundamental understanding of vision and, in the case of the many graduates who have entered the eyecare profession, to safeguard it, restore it, or improve it. Today’s groups are pioneering genetic tools for exploring vision and vision disorders including macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa, as well as probing the impact of diabetes on the vision system.
