Dr. Marty Rosenberg

Dr. Rosenberg is Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) for the Promega Corporation, a Biotech Company that produces Genetic Identity products for the forensic markets and life science reagents and tools. While working in the pharmaceutical sector for 20 years, Dr. Rosenberg was asked to serve on the Board of Directors of Promega Corporation. When he retired from pharma, he agreed to become Promega’s CSO.
Dr. Rosenberg’s graduate experience and Ph.D. from Purdue taught him how to do innovative, independent scientific investigation. This laboratory experience became the foundation on which he built his science career. His post-doctoral experience at Yale Medical School and his tenure at the National Institute of Health as an independent researcher in the National Cancer Institute proved helpful in his career.
Dr. Rosenberg recommends that students consider coursework or experiences in anything that leads to creative thinking and enhancing communication skills in both writing and speaking. He suggests that there are many, many other things to do with your training than to become a university professor. A strong technical background can be leveraged in many ways within the Life Sciences Industry.
