Mr. Bruce Kidd is Senior Vice President of Walker Information, one of the nation’s leading customer strategy consulting firms. Walker works with companies of all sizes to become intensely customer focused in all of their business strategies. Walker helps companies preserve and then enhance their customer relationships. Prior to joining Walker Information, Kidd worked for Governor Mitch Daniels as the Director of Entrepreneurship for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). He managed all programs designed to assist in the creation and/or growth of entrepreneurial companies in Indiana. Those responsibilities included serving as the Managing Director of the 21st Century Research & Technology Fund which invest, Small Business Development Center Network and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) assistance program.
Prior to joining the IEDC in 2005 Kidd was Vice President of the Indiana Venture Center where he assisted entrepreneurial companies with strategy decisions and planning, capital formation, and other key issues growing companies encounter. During his time at the Venture Center, Kidd created and managed the Indiana Angel Investor Network (AngelNet).
Prior to joining the Indiana Venture Center, Kidd was a founding partner of Concord Partners, a business advisory firm established in July 1997 to assist closely-held companies with growth and profitability. He has also held positions as the Director of Business Development for Entrepreneurial Services for Ernst & Young in Indiana from 1993-1997 and the Director of Business Assistance at the Indiana Small Business Development Corporation from 1987-1993.
Over the past dozen years, Kidd has helped to create several new initiatives and programs for Indiana entrepreneurial and middle market companies including the Indiana Growth 100 program; the Business 2000 Forum for pre-IPO companies; the CFO Roundtable Network; CEO Advantage Network; the Indiana Executive Forum for CEOs of small- and medium-sized companies; INBiz magazine and INBiz Café website; the Indiana Venture Idol Competition and the Indiana Companies to Watch Awards.
Kidd has served as President of the Venture Club of Indiana and the Entrepreneur’s Alliance of Indiana, and currently serves on the board of directors or board of advisors for the Venture Club of Indiana, Key Bank, International Kidney Stone Institute, Premier Capital Corporation, the School of Entrepreneurship at Ball State University, the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship at Purdue University and the Indianapolis Board of Advisors for Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.
A native of Indianapolis, Kidd earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, and is married to Chris (Purdue Rx degree in 1980) and has three c children – a senior and freshman at Purdue and a junior in high school destined to be a boilermaker as well.
