BIOL 20100 Human Anatomy and Physiology

Description:

BIOL 20100/20200 is a two-semester course designed to give the student a basic understanding of the anatomy, organization and function of the human body. There will be introductory lectures on the basic concepts of biochemistry and cell biology before the major topics of the course are dealt with. These topics include the basic organization of the human body; muscle and bone; the nervous system (including the special senses); the cardiovascular system; respiration; digestion, metabolism, excretion, fluid, electrolyte and acid-base balance; the endocrine system; reproduction and genetics. The subject matter will be related to relevant questions of clinical or health-related importance. This is the first semester of a two-semester sequence. BIOL 20100 is a prerequisite for BIOL 20200.
