Graduate Appointments

TUITION AND FEES. A substantial number of graduate assistantships, both departmental and through the university, are available to qualified applicants each year. These include the exemption of regular tuition and fees as part of the assistantship except for the Graduate Staff Fees. The Graduate Staff Fee is the reduced, flat fee that all graduate students supported on an assistantship are charged.

Domestic Students:  For students starting in Fall 2008, the Graduate Staff Fee will be $777 per semester for 2008-09 and $428.30 for the 2009 summer session. This includes the new R&R fee of $125 per semester and $62.50 for the summer sessions.

International Students:  Purdue provides many services unique to international students: immigration regulation advising; cultural/educational programming; international undergraduate admissions, and; SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) reporting and compliance with the U.S. Government. Due to the cost of providing these services, it is necessary for the international students to help pay for a portion of these services, which are directly related to them. International students who start in our graduate program in August will pay an additional $50 fee per session. Therefore the Graduate Staff Fee for international students will be $827 ($777 + $50) each for the fall 20068 and spring 2009 semesters. The additional fee is assessed for the summer session also. The summer fee will be $478.30 ($428.30 + $50).

DEADLINE:

All admitted international students are considered for graduate appointments through their January 31 application deadline.

All admitted domestic students are considered for graduate appointments through their February 31 application deadline. However, more flexibility in the type of support is possible the earlier the application is completed.
